Indonesian Port Re-Service as the Main Support of the Supply Chain

Abstract:
Ports as key of transportation network, the gate of economy activities, transportational mode transition center, site of distribution, production, and consolidation of goods and services, and a place that highly related with routine industrial, agricultural, tourism, and commercial activities. Its important roles in commercial field are as chain of transportation (transportation system) which is a series of goods movement from sender to the receiver or customer that involves various of transportational mode transitions. Are the activities conducted related with supply and chain in ports are already in harmony from the perspective of regulations? Should these ports be re-serviced to improve its performance as a part of supply and chain management? The utilized method in this research is a normative method, with a descriptive analysis by utilizing secondary and primary data. The result of this research reveals that the implemented policy is not in harmony with the available resource in the field, and caused unoptimum output. Because of that, a cooperation between the available human resources in the policy implementation is vital to improve the sector’s contribution towards the national economy, where ports are placed as an accelerator of physical and economical development. Port reservice is a requirement to improve the inconducive and unprofessional Indonesian ports that contribute on ineffective and inefficient service performance. Indonesian ports should organize its performance by improving their tools as supporting facilities and infrastructures. If the available funding is insufficient, port management is recommended to invite both domestic or foreign investors to provide capital investments.

INTEGRATING FISCAL MATTERS WITH ENVIRONMETAL SUSTAINABILITY IN ASEAN COUNTRIES: ROLE OF FISCAL DEFICIT, INTEREST RATE AND STOCK EXCHANGE INDEX

Abstract:
The current study was carried out with the objective of evaluating the relationship between environmental sustainability and fiscal deficit, stock exchange index & interest rate. A panel data methodology has been used for the period ranging 1995-2018. The econometric tests of cross-sectional dependence, cointegration, unit root and long run estimations were employed in the study. The estimation of the long run associations has been performed on the basis of the AMG estimations. The AMG estimations showed that interest rate and fiscal deficit have negative relationship with environmental sustainability, whereas increase in the stock exchange index, capitalization of the indexed companies has positive and significant effects on the environmental sustainability. The Konya causality analysis shows that the variables present bidirectional associations. The present study is novel as it is based upon studying the fiscal macroeconomic indicators and their relevance to the environmental sustainability. The novelty and significance of the study is reinforced by the fact that a new dataset has been used. The current study is also important from the regional standpoint as developments are being made in the ASEAN region. The study has some limitations which have been discussed along with the theoretical and policy making implications.

FINANCIAL SECTOR DEVELOPMENT OF ASEAN COUNTRIES AND ITS IMPACT ON CO2 EMISSION: A PANEL DATA ANALYSIS OF VARIOUS BANKING ASPECTS

Abstract:
This paper is an informative approach to critically inspect the influence of financial sector development's dimensions on the CO2 emission within the developing ASEAN states i.e. Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Philippines and Thailand over the period of 1990-2016. The major tested variables of this paper are the number of bank deposits, number of bank branches and ATMs who act as independent variables; CO2 emission act as a dependent variable, while population and gross capital formation act as controlling variables within this research. To justify the hypothesis, the Panel Unit Root Test, Pedroni's Cointegration Test, FMOLS Estimation, and Multicollinearity Test based statistical evaluation performed within this paper. According to the outcomes, it becomes concluded that there is no existence of any null hypothesis and cointegration among the tested variables. In addition, the significant coefficient values of the number of bank branches, number of bank deposits, population, and gross capital formation depicts that these factors directly enhanced the CO2 gas emission based situation within the selected states within the 1990-2016 era. This paper is an informative approach in front of the state's government, policymakers, business community and other related financial institutions to overcome their negative environmental influence by enhancing their work on the green marketing approach. In addition, there is a need to implement the coordination among stakeholders; capacity building and market share based effective controlling variables to enhance its authenticity.

Breach of Psychological Contract and Customer Behavior to Reuse Retailing Website: A Multiple Mediation Approach

Abstract:
The process of psychological contract breach (PSYCB) is largely studied in the literature of organizational behavior which states that PSYCB has negative impact on attitudes of employees such as job satisfaction and trust. As the psychological states affect behavior, it is significant to test how PSYCB may influence satisfaction and trust in the environment of online retailing. The purpose of this paper is to study the mediating role of customer trust (CSTR) and customer satisfaction (CSST) in the linkage between customer intention to reuse online retailing website (CIRU) and PSYCB. The survey of the current study was directed on the postgraduate students. The respondents were studying in Chiang Mai University in Thailand. The sample (321) participants' age ranged from 19 to 26 because it was the highest level of penetration of internet in the Thailand and this age group individuals were more likely to buy online. PSYCB and CIRU are used as independent and dependent variables, respectively. While CSTR and CSST are used as mediating variables. The mediation of CSST and CSTR is tested using the method of bootstrapping. For the association between CSST and CSTR as well as mediating impacts of CSTR and CSST on the interaction between PSYCB and CIRU, the study analyzed for multiple mediation. The findings show that PSYCB has negative influence on CSTR, CSST and CIRU. CSTR is directly associated with CSST. The impact of CSTR on CIRU and CSST on CIRU are also found to be positive. The findings also show that CSTR partially mediates the relationship between PSYCB and CIRU and CSST also marginally mediates the linkage between PSYCB and CIRU. The results also show that CSST marginally mediates the association between CSTR and CIRU and CSTR partially mediates the link between PSYCB and CSST. Moreover, CSTR and CSST together fully mediate the relationship between PSYCB and CIRU. The study recommends that PSYCB should be reduced for successful online retailing as PSYCB negatively influence CSTR and CSST of e-buyers which in turn affect the buyer's intention to reuse online retailer's website. Introduction psychological contract breach (PSYCB) refers to the perception of a buyer of being treated wrongly in terms of buying agreement with the seller. PSYCB is very popular in online shopping places as seller and buyer do not meet at face-to-face level and personal and are not familiar with one and other. They mostly have dissimilar objectives, and different understandings of their particular obligations of contract (Pavlou & Gefen, 2005). PSYCB is origin to the authors' understandings of seller-buyer relationship in online retailing. The theory of psychological contract (PSYC) reports that PSYCB results in negative consequences (Sajtos et al., 2010). The process of PSYCB is largely studies in the literature of OB (organizational behavior) which states that PSYCB has negative impact on attitudes of employees such as job satisfaction and trust (Zhao et al., 2007). As the psychological states affect behavior, it is significant to test how PSYCB may influence customer trust (CSTR) and customer satisfaction (CSST) in the environment of online retailing.

DOES THE ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION DETERMINE THE ECONOMIC GROWTH AND ENERGY PRICES IN ASEAN COUNTRIES?

Abstract:
The general objective of this study is to estimate the relationship between electricity consumption, economic performance and the price of electricity in four sectors namely the industrial, commercial, mining and agricultural by using the panel data approach on leading ASEAN countries. The present study intends to contribute significantly to the existing literature by presenting a comprehensive approach of the issue of electricity consumption in Thailand. The information of electricity consumption in the industrial, commercial, agricultural and mining sectors is essential to understand the magnitude of the sectors' sensitivity to change with respect to GDP and electricity price. Moreover, real electricity price is incorporated in this study to provide a more consistent result. The findings are important for researchers and academicians by providing a better knowledge of sectoral electricity demand to permit better regulatory decisions in order to facilitate economic efficiency. Apparently for the policy makers, it will be possible that the approach of this study could be useful as a guideline to facilitate the adoption of a more appropriate model for electricity demand management as well as restructuring the electricity sectors. Furthermore, the findings of this study will be helpful in the formulation of effective energy and pricing policies in order to encourage consumers towards the efficient use of energy for the future of sustainable energy and development.

Influence of Economic Indicators on Supply Chain: Evidence from Indonesian Fishing Industry.

Abstract:
The supply chain dynamics has been broadly examined and experienced by the academes, industrialists as well as economists. However, still the literature is missing with the effect of economic indicators on supply chain practices, particularly in fishing industry. Therefore, the objective of the current study is to examine the role of economic indicators on supply chain in fishing industry of Indonesia. Fishing industry is one of the industries which is working from many centuries and now growing rapidly and considered to be the important element of economic growth in different countries like Indonesia. Six hypotheses were formulated with the help of previous studies, concerning the relationship between inflation rate, interest rate, human development index (HDI), gross domestic product (GDP) and supply chain. GDP was considered as the mediating variable. Managerial employees of fishing companies were selected as the respondents of this study. Primary data was collected by conducting the questionnaire survey. Total number of one hundred and ninety-six (196) response were received. These responses were analysed with the help of statistical software namely; Partial Least Square (PLS). It was found that economic indicators have influence on supply chain. Increases in inflation rate and interest rate decreases the supply chain. However, increases in HDI enhances the GDP and promote supply chain activities. Additionally, GDP is a mediating variable between HDI and supply chain which positively enhances the supply chain through HDI. Thus, study provides the clues for government to promote supply chain by controlling inflation and interest rate.

The Role of the Risk Management Committee in Managing Supply Chain Risk and Enhancing Supply Chain Performance: An Emerging Market Perspective.

Abstract:
The prime objective of the currents study is to examine the role of the risk management committee in managing the supply chain risk and enhancing the supply chain performance. The three risk measures namely supply chain technology risk, supply chain integration risk and supply chain integration risk are used to conceptualize the firm supply chain risk. The risk management committee is one of a feature of the code of corporate governance which during the last couple of years have widely discussed in the literature in the reference of financial risk management. However, little or no attention has been given to explore the issue with the reference of operational risk management, especially in supply chain risk management. This is among the few pioneering studies being carried out to explore the direct role of risk management committee on firm supply performance and its moderating role on firm supply chain risk and firm supply performance. The SEM-PLS is used to achieve the research objectives. The data is collected from the operation managers of Indonesian based production firms operating in Indonesia. The results of the study have shown a great deal of agreement with our proposed hypothesis. Except the supply chain integration risk, all other measures of risk are in a significant positive relation with firm supply performance whereas the supply chain integration risk appears in negative and significant relation with the firm supply chain performance. The current study will be helpful for PR actioners, researchers and policy makers in understanding the link between operational management and corporate governance.

CO2 Emissions, Economic Growth, Energy Consumption, and Household Expenditure for Indonesia: Evidence from Cointegration and Vector Error Correction Model.

Abstract:
The present study analyses the causal relationship between CO2 emissions, energy consumption, value-added of three development sectors and household final consumption expenditure in Indonesia using annual data from 1975 to 2014. We applied ADF and PP unit root tests, Johansen co-integration test, and Granger causality test based on vector error correction modelling. Our results indicated that although CO2 emission and energy consumption have a mutual effect, increase CO2 emissions tend given greater effect on energy consumption. CO2 emissions, energy consumption, the value-added of industry sector and household final consumption expenditure have a significant effect on the added value of agriculture sector and service sector, while the added value of agriculture sector is a key factor that driven increases the added value of service sector. In the long term, we discover that a cointegration relationship occurring when energy consumption, household final expenditure, and the value-added of three development sectors, respectively, are determined as the dependent variables in the model. Based on these results, we concluded that energy conservation and mitigation policies which accompanied the application of energy-saving technologies should be an important priority on the sustainable development planning in Indonesia, especially in order to reduce CO2 emissions and accelerate the economic growth rate in Indonesia.

The Environmental Study on Causality Relationship among Energy Consumption, CO2 Emissions, the Value Added of Development Sectors and Household Final Consumption Expenditure in Indonesia.

Abstract:
The long-run estimates indicate that there is a statistically significant positive association between electricity consumption and emissions and a non-linear relationship between emissions and real output, consistent with the Environmental Kuznets Curve. The present study investigates the causal relationship between CO2 emissions, energy consumption, the value-added of three development sectors and household final consumption expenditure in Indonesia using annual time series data from 1971 to 2014. We applied the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) method and granger causality test in order to explore the direction of relationships among the variables. Our study revealed that the growth of energy consumption and an increases the value-added of industry sector and services sector will cause a rise of CO2 emissions, while a rise of the value-added of agriculture sector potentially reduced CO2 emission and increases energy consumption. The growth of value-added on three development sectors, respectively, have a mutual relationship with household final consumption expenditure and a unidirectional relationship to energy consumption and CO2 emission in Indonesia. Furthermore, we also discovered that the value-added of services sector has a mutual relationship with the value-added of industry sector and agriculture sector, while the growth of value-added on industry sector has a negative effect to the value-added of agriculture sector. Based on these results, we concluded that the energy conservation policies can be applied to all energy user groups in Indonesia. In addition, we also suggest that policymakers can implement economic policies that can encourage increased the value-added of agriculture sector in Indonesia.
