Influence of Economic Indicators on Supply Chain: Evidence from Indonesian Fishing Industry.

Abstract:
The supply chain dynamics has been broadly examined and experienced by the academes, industrialists as well as economists. However, still the literature is missing with the effect of economic indicators on supply chain practices, particularly in fishing industry. Therefore, the objective of the current study is to examine the role of economic indicators on supply chain in fishing industry of Indonesia. Fishing industry is one of the industries which is working from many centuries and now growing rapidly and considered to be the important element of economic growth in different countries like Indonesia. Six hypotheses were formulated with the help of previous studies, concerning the relationship between inflation rate, interest rate, human development index (HDI), gross domestic product (GDP) and supply chain. GDP was considered as the mediating variable. Managerial employees of fishing companies were selected as the respondents of this study. Primary data was collected by conducting the questionnaire survey. Total number of one hundred and ninety-six (196) response were received. These responses were analysed with the help of statistical software namely; Partial Least Square (PLS). It was found that economic indicators have influence on supply chain. Increases in inflation rate and interest rate decreases the supply chain. However, increases in HDI enhances the GDP and promote supply chain activities. Additionally, GDP is a mediating variable between HDI and supply chain which positively enhances the supply chain through HDI. Thus, study provides the clues for government to promote supply chain by controlling inflation and interest rate.

Influence of Government Support, Technology Support and Islamic Banking Awareness on Islamic Banking Choice in Indonesia with Moderating Role of Religiosity.

Abstract:
Indonesia has the largest Muslim populations in the world, but the market share of Islamic Banking in Indonesia is only five percent of its total banking system. To attract more Islamic banking customers is a major challenge to Indonesian Islamic banks. This study intends to examine the influence of Government Support, Technology Support and Islamic banking Awareness on Islamic banking Choice in Indonesia. The study also observes the moderating role of religiosity on the relationship of Government Support, Technology Support and Islamic banking Awareness with Islamic banking Choice. For the assessment of relationship among these factors the data was gathered from the bank customers who are teachers in schools, colleges and universities in west, center, and east regions of Indonesia, via a questioner. PLS-SEM statistical tool was used for data analysis. Results of this study revealed that Government Support, Technology Support and Islamic banking awareness has significant influence on selection of Islamic banking. Moreover, findings illustrated that religiosity plays a moderating role on the relationship of Technology Support and Islamic banking awareness with Islamic banking Choice in Indonesia, but religiosity does not moderate the relationship of Government support with Islamic banking Choice. This study contributes to Islamic finance and banking literature and provides empirical evidence that Government Support, Technology Support and Islamic banking awareness are significant antecedent of Islamic banking Choice.

The Application of Agency Theory in Supply Chain Finance: A Case of Indonesian Manufacturing Firms.

Abstract:
The prime objective of the current study is to explore the relationship between supply chain operational performance and firm supply chain management in the reference of agency theory. To further explain the role of agency theory, in the supply chain management we have examined the direct and indirect impact of supply chain operational performance on firm supply chain management. The SMART-PLS is used to achieve the objective of the current stud. The data is collected from the operation managers, production managers and finance managers of manufacturing firms listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange. The results of the study have shown a great deal of agreement with our proposed hypothesis. The corporate governance index comprising of board characteristics appears as a moderator in the relationship between supply chain operational performance and firm supply chain management. The Role of the Risk Management Committee in Managing Supply Chain Risk and Enhancing Supply Chain Performance: An Emerging Market Perspective.

Abstract:
The prime objective of the currents study is to examine the role of the risk management committee in managing the supply chain risk and enhancing the supply chain performance. The three risk measures namely supply chain technology risk, supply chain integration risk and supply chain integration risk are used to conceptualize the firm supply chain risk. The risk management committee is one of a feature of the code of corporate governance which during the last couple of years have widely discussed in the literature in the reference of financial risk management. However, little or no attention has been given to explore the issue with the reference of operational risk management, especially in supply chain risk management. This is among the few pioneering studies being carried out to explore the direct role of risk management committee on firm supply performance and its moderating role on firm supply chain risk and firm supply performance. The SEM-PLS is used to achieve the research objectives. The data is collected from the operation managers of Indonesian based production firms operating in Indonesia. The results of the study have shown a great deal of agreement with our proposed hypothesis. Except the supply chain integration risk, all other measures of risk are in a significant positive relation with firm supply performance whereas the supply chain integration risk appears in negative and significant relation with the firm supply chain performance. The current study will be helpful for PR actioners, researchers and policy makers in understanding the link between operational management and corporate governance.

CO2 Emissions, Economic Growth, Energy Consumption, and Household Expenditure for Indonesia: Evidence from Cointegration and Vector Error Correction Model.

Abstract:
The present study analyses the causal relationship between CO2 emissions, energy consumption, value-added of three development sectors and household final consumption expenditure in Indonesia using annual data from 1975 to 2014. We applied ADF and PP unit root tests, Johansen co-integration test, and Granger causality test based on vector error correction modelling. Our results indicated that although CO2 emission and energy consumption have a mutual effect, increase CO2 emissions tend given greater effect on energy consumption. CO2 emissions, energy consumption, the value-added of industry sector and household final consumption expenditure have a significant effect on the added value of agriculture sector and service sector, while the added value of agriculture sector is a key factor that driven increases the added value of service sector. In the long term, we discover that a cointegration relationship occurring when energy consumption, household final expenditure, and the value-added of three development sectors, respectively, are determined as the dependent variables in the model. Based on these results, we concluded that energy conservation and mitigation policies which accompanied the application of energy-saving technologies should be an important priority on the sustainable development planning in Indonesia, especially in order to reduce CO2 emissions and accelerate the economic growth rate in Indonesia.
